Before & After: Greenwood Village Home Renovation
Our studio was thrilled to renovate this beautiful 1980s Greenwood Village home so our out-of-state clients could move in right before the school year. The clients were incredibly knowledgeable and fun to work with, and their clear vision for the home made the entire process easier.
A Minimalist Design High on Style
Overall, our clients wanted an elegant, modern, and sophisticated look for their new home, which we achieved through a combination of finishes, colors, materials, and remodeling. Adding and removing walls allowed us to create a seamless flow and feel throughout the entire house. We used a Belgian/Dutch style that features a clean, bright palette along with several rustic elements, natural touches, and minimalist furniture in earthy tones. We changed all of the windows, doors, baseboards, millwork, and trim, as well as the fireplace design.
BEFORE AND AFTER
Entryway and staircase
Since the main entryway faced a staircase leading to the second floor private areas, we created new focal points to keep the attention at eye level. We removed a wall to expand the space and added low-hanging statement lighting, a beautifully decorated console table, and attractive artwork.

Living and Dining
We reimagined the formal dining area by shifting it into the large living room, which is spacious enough to hold the client’s gorgeous 12-foot dining table – a piece of sentimental value for hosting family and friends. We also chose lovely pendant lights in a jute finish to add an earthy vibe to the dining space.
In the living room section of the space, we created a warm and cozy ambience with comfortable couches, a minimalist bench, stylish decor, and attractive lighting. A jute rug adds an organic, natural element to the space.
The shared dining and living space ensures there is no dearth of conversation in this room! The areas are brought together with a gorgeous redesigned fireplace. We built a floor-to-ceiling box to create dimension, covered it in the client’s favorite distressed brickwork-style finish, and added a reclaimed wood mantelpiece, unique candle stands, and striking artwork.

Kitchen
Our clients wanted to keep their beautiful kitchen’s layout and black countertops, and add a touch of style with black cabinets. Using that as a starting point, we gave the kitchen a significant facelift, also adding an attractive range hood, brass fixtures, hardware, faucet, and lighting for a grand appearance. For a stylish upgrade, we covered the main wall with stone quartz with subtle black veining, complementing the design and creating an amazing backsplash! We also added a breakfast table as our clients love to eat together as a whole family.

FAMILY ROOM
We used the space that was previously a formal dining room to create a fun family room with a TV. We closed off the wall that led to the hallway and widened the opening to the kitchen. The furniture is placed to take advantage of the sunshine streaming through large windows, enlivening the client’s family time. We also added a statement center table with a unique metal-finish and interesting decor items.

BATHROOM
We transformed the client’s large bathroom to give it a bright, calm, natural, and spacious appeal, which is what beautiful bathrooms are all about! The original space had white cabinets, gold fixtures, and a large tub. To make the room look more airy and natural, we added wooden cabinets. We replaced the bulky tub with an elegant freestanding tub with muted black hardware and added a separate shower area with black floor tiles to match the hardware.

DEN
We envisioned the den to be a fun, family-friendly space. We removed the wallpaper and dated window treatments and added a fresh coat of paint to create a lively feel. A comfortable couch with an Ottoman-style center table and study table are perfect for the kids. We also upgraded the fireplace with a fresh finish to match the main living room and added statement lighting and minimalist wall decor for a natural vibe.

A PERFECT FINISH
This beautiful Greenwood Village home was a wonderfully fun project for our studio. The Belgian/Dutch style decor elements, minimalist design plan, natural textures, and muted colors evoke a relaxed ambience. We executed the project amid the logistical delays and issues associated with COVID-19, and we were thrilled to accomplish exactly what the client wanted despite the challenges.
