Connecting Interior Design and Fashion
Interior design and fashion complement each other, and I enjoy the interconnectedness of these two creative crafts. Whether you love an eclectic Bohemian or prefer a more restrained contemporary approach, fashion and interiors both express who we are.
Luxury scented candles by Versace Home
Interior designers and fashion designers often dabble in each other’s craft, and I love the results of some of these collaborations. For example, Italian fashion powerhouse Versace has a stunning home collection line. French designer Philippe Starck, who is known for contemporary architecture and design, created a gorgeous line of cashmere clothing for Italian brand Ballantyne. Luxury fashion brands like Hermès, Louis Vuitton, and Kenzo all have home decor and furniture lines as well. They often collaborate with interior designers to forge their collections. Listed below are some of my favorite interior design and fashion collaborations.
1. KENZO
K Knitted Bed Collection by Kenzo
French luxury fashion label, Kenzo’s line of home decor is as vivacious and youthful as their fashion. I love the bright colors and graphic prints found on Kenzo accessories like bags, clutches, and scarves. The same exciting aesthetic applies to their home decor as well. The vibrant blue and deep red of Kenzo’s bed linen works beautifully in a neutral-hued, modern master bedroom.
2. ATELIER OÏ FOR BULGARI
Jewels Charm Collection. atelier oï for Bulgari
Swiss architecture and design brand atelier oï collaborated with Italian luxury fashion house Bulgari to design perfume bottles for Bulgari fragrances. The colorful purse sprays are designed to look like pieces of jewels keeping with Bulgari’s refined elegance. This collaboration is one of my favorite examples of how design and fashion can enhance each other. I love the curvy lines that atelier oï used to design the bottles, and the colors look as precious as the Bulgari jewels that inspired them.
3. JEAN-PAUL GAULTIER FOR LELIÈVRE
Etoiles Bleu Wallpaper. Jean-Paul Gaultier for Lelièvre
French label Jean-Paul Gaultier’s line of wallpapers for French furnishing fabrics brand Lelièvre is as beautifully surreal as Gaultier’s haute couture. I love the Etoiles Blue wallpaper above. I like using wallpaper in my interior design projects, and this print would make a stunning focal point.
When I design my clients’ homes, I try to get into their character to understand who they are, and that allows me to design a home that suits them. So if you’re a fashionista who loves high fashion, you should really consider hiring us to bring luxury decor by some of fashion’s most prominent labels to your home interior. Living the life of luxury is one without regrets!
